As I was approaching my 50th birthday I wanted to do something musical to celebrate. At first I was going to record an EP of myself covering some of my favorite songs. The more that I thought about it, I thought that it would be more interesting if my musical friends recorded those covers instead. At first the project was going to have 12 tracks, then 20, then 25 then 50 and it just kept growing. Of course, my inability to say "no" or to know when to stop played into that too.
